Universal, Gore Verbinski to remake 2006 Korean thriller
Universal Pictures and Gore Verbinski are teaming up with a remake of the 2006 Korean thriller The Host. Commercials director Fredrik Bond will helm and Mark Pirier (Smart People) will write the script. The story is about a town terrorized by a squidlike creature hatched by toxins in a nearby river. When the thing grabs a little girl, her family is forced to ban together to try to save her.
