John Curran takes director's chair vacated by Cassavetes
John Curran has replaced Nick Cassavetes as director of the period drama, The Beautiful and the Damned. Starring Keira Knightley, the pic is expected to begin production in March. Curran's directing credits include The Painted Veil and We Don't Live Here Anymore.

Keira Knightley eyes yet another period movie
Keira Knightley is in talks to star in The Beautiful and the Damned, a Nick Cassavetes-directed period love story about F. Scott Fitzgerald and Zelda Sayre. Fitzgerald often used their relationship as material for his novels, and Sayre did the same. Written by Hanna Weg, the project is expected to start shooting April 2009.
