Columbia enjoys Ride with James Patterson
Columbia acquired the screen rights to James Patterson's bestselling young adult novel series, Maximum Ride, and hired Don Payne to pen the adaptation of the first novel. The series revolves around six children who are genetically altered to be 98 percent human and two percent bird. After escaping from the lab, the kids are constantly being pursued by their creators, who send part-human, part-wolves to find them. The series' fifth installment is due out next year.
