Universal to start singing the high notes
Universal picked up the rights to Mickey Rapkin's nonfiction book, Pitch Perfect, and assigned 30 Rock's Kay Cannon to handle the film adaptation. Rapkin, senior editor at GQ magazine, spent some time covering competitive a cappella at the college level. He followed three teams -- Tuft University, the University of Oregon and the University of Virginia -- and wrote about such things as the singing, partying and rivalries. The film is expected to be a comedy set in that very world.
