Veteran director boards hijacked red-eye

Vet director Joe Dante signed on to helm Bat Out of Hell, an indie horror project. Expected to begin production later this year, the feature is about hijackers who encounter monstrous cargo on a red-eye flight from L.A. to New York. The script was penned by the unfortunately named Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan.
