Natalie Portman decided to exit Wuthering Heights, claiming her departure is due to a scheduling conflict with an as-yet unannounced project. Execs are pondering other choices for the role of Catherine Earnshaw, who Portman was set to play.

Portman brings Earnshaw to life
Natalie Portman (The Other Boleyn Girl) will portray the iconic Catherine Earnshaw in Ecosse Films' big screen adaptation of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. The project, to be directed by John Maybury (The Jacket), was written by scribe Olivia Hetreed (Girl With a Pearl Earring).
