Sakey's debut novel goes to the big screen
Miramax snapped up the rights to The Blade Itself, Marcus Sakey's debut novel about gritty crime. To be penned by Aaron Stockard (Gone Baby Gone), the story is about two Chicago kids who commit petty crimes in their youth and reunite years later. At that time, however, one of the friends is forced to decide whether or not to protect the secrets of his past.
