Jonathan Demme sits in Marley chair
Jonathan Demme replaced Martin Scorsese in the director's chair of the as-yet-untitled biopic of Bob Marley, to be released on the 65th anniversary of the singer's birth - Feb. 6, 2010. Scorsese apparently left the project due to "scheduling conflicts".

Marley's former wife to exec produce first-ever biopic
Rita Marley, former wife of the late Bob Marley, will executive produce the first-ever biopic of the acclaimed Jamaican reggae artist. Adapted from her 2004 autobiography, No Woman No Cry: My Life With Bob Marley, the film will be an "epic romance," including information about the couple's life and the Marleys' assassination attempt. It is scheduled to begin production early next year for a late 2009 release in theaters.
