Church has Eyes for Walter Keane
Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3) will star alongside Kate Hudson in Big Eyes, a fact-based drama from the writing-directing team of Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. In it, Church will play Walter Keane, a man who became hugely successful in the 1950s and 1960s because of a painting series of big-eyed children. Hudson will portray his wife, Margaret.

Hudson opens her Eyes
Kate Hudson (Fool's Gold) signed on to portray painter Margaret Keane in the independently financed film Big Eyes. The drama, written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (1408), follows Keane's personal awakening at the beginning of the feminist movement, and tracks her first mass-market success in the 1950s with the release of her big-eyed children creations. Expected to begin filming in June, Big Eyes marks the directorial debut of the Alexander/Karaszewski duo.
