Comedy is back up and running, but financial troubles linger

Political comedy Nailed resumed filming today, thanks to a financial deal with the film's financer, Capitol Films, and Comerica Bank. On Tuesday, key members of the cast - Jake Gyllenhaal, Jessica Biel and Catherine Keener - were said to be on their way to South Carolina to begin filming. However, the ultimate future of the film remains uncertain. Capitol said it will meet the film's projected $25 million budget and additional costs due to a week of missed shooting. But filmmakers involved with the project are unsure whether the funds will last through post-production.

Jake Gyllenhaal-starrer shuts down a second time

Production of Nailed shut down for a second time due to financial difficulties. Certain crew members also refused to work Thursday. The Screen Actors Guild told its members last week to stay off the set after the film's financer, Capitol Films, failed to deposit enough money in SAG accounts set up to pay the actors. Production resumed again earlier this week before shutting down for a second time.
