Paramount project in limbo
Even with David Fincher's success with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button ($100 million-plus at the box office and a league-leading 13 Oscar nominations), Paramount allowed the rights option on the director's graphic novel adaptation, Torso, to lapse. The project, which has drawn interest from Matt Damon and Casey Affleck, has been on the studio's docket since 2006.

Fincher gets a Torso
David Fincher is set to direct Torso for Paramount Pictures. The movie is based on the graphic novel written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Marc Andreyko. Ehren Kruger will adapt the screenplay. The movie focuses on real-life federal agent Eliot Ness. The story is set after he closes the Chicago Al Capone case and moves to Cleveland. He makes a promise to help clean up the town, but soon finds that to be a great challenge as a series of gruesome killings known as the "torso murders" begin to take center stage.
