Horror flick adds two
Dead of Night began production this week with two additional staffers: Producer Gilbert Adler and Greg Cannom, who will handle makeup effects. The project, based on the 1986 Italian comic book series, Dylan Dog, stars Brandon Routh in the lead role.

Sahara writers go to Dead of Night
Joshua Oppenheimer and Tom Donnelly, who wrote the screenplay for Sahara, have been hired to write the adaptation of the Italian comic book series Dylan Dog. The movie will be known as Dead of Night and will be produced by Platinum Studios. The project was owned by Dimension, but Platinum is taking it over.

Platinum Studios walks the Dog
Platinum Studios will develop and co-produce an adaptation of the Italian comic book series Dylan Dog: The Fourth Kingdom. They'll work with Vancouver's the Shop
Animation Studios on the project. The Shop co-founder Ian Pearson will direct based on a script heco-wrote with Gavin Blair. The film will center on nightmare investigator Dylan Dog, who must stop a supernatural killer before forces of heaven and hell combine to unleash Armageddon. The comic was created by Tiziano Sclavi and has sold more than 80 million copies since it debuted in 1985.
