Hostel returns
After opening in the number one position with $20.1 million this past weekend, Screen Gems and Lionsgate are working on a sequel to Hostel. Eli Roth, who wrote and directed the first film, is in talks to return. The two studios are looking to release the sequel within a year, following the pattern Lionsgate previously established with Saw, Saw II and the upcoming Saw III. At this time, it is unknown whether executive producer Quentin Tarantino will return.
