Little Secrets
Release Date:
August 23, 2002
Limited release
This film stars three up-and-coming young actors and focuses around guilt-nagged peers who entrust another preteen with their secrets. Headlining the cast is Evan Rachel Wood, who starred in the critically-acclaimed television drama Once and Again. Her co-stars include Michael Angarano, best known to movie buffs as the 11-year old William in Almost Famous, and David Gallagher, whose role as Simon Camden on The WB's 7th Heaven should make him a familiar face. Of the remaining players, the only one with any real widespread recognition is Vivica A. Fox (Two Can Play That Game). A running theme amongst the other cast members is that many of them have had guest shots on Touched by an Angel.
Blair Treu directs the film from a screenplay by Jessica Barondes, who also wrote the script for the director's Wish Upon a Star. The film won the Crystal Heart Award at the 2001 Heartland Film Festival and is likely to reach a solid niche audience, much as did the long-playing 2001 limited release, The Other Side of Heaven.
